Roughly 80 teams fielding around 2,000 players compete across 10 divisions every summer, for the love of the game.

In 2016, the MRSL was managed almost entirely in spreadsheets, payments collected via cash or check on the field or through the mail. The website and dashboard for the MRSL, totaling over 300,000 lines of code, transitioned the bulk of administrative operations across registration, payments, divisions, facilities, games, and misconducts to a web native administrative dashboard.

Firestore is a fully managed, internet scale document database offered by Google. Flame was designed to improve clarity and accuracy of Firestore related data model and query code.

Among other features, Flame makes it easy to define models, write queries and transactions, and page data with cursor based paging. As a bonus (compared to using firestore-admin directly), using Flame greatly reduces the amount of code in API or Lambda handlers that interact with Firestore.
